I found this link for the Silicon Dust Prime http://adamcooperwood.com/blog/hdhr-prim...index.html and was wondering if the same http access is also available on the HDHR3 or is that the Prime only? I am considering purchasing an HDHR3 ($80 including shipping) and using one tuner outside NextPVR for streaming directly to avoid powering my NextPVR backend and general issues with rolling files and client lockups.

Yes, the original HDHR devices do this too. There is some slight differences in the URL format between HDHR3 and Prime, but nothing significant.

I got my HDHR3 and I couldn't find a way to stream with http but the built in xbmc support isn't bad. As an ATSC tuner my old ATI 650 is far superior.
