I'm migrating from Sagetv. I've got a Hauppauge HV-1600 card. I am able to scan the digital cable channels and using the QAM identified tuner with no problem. I've got a satellite STB connected to the s-video input but I don't see how to capture this. Can anyone help me get back on the road? Thanks.

I posted too soon. I found the link on the forum about downloading the Hauppauge WinTV7. I installed that and updated drivers. NextPVR saw the analog tuner and all is well. I'm looking forward to using this product.

You would get better quality if you had composite video input instead of S-video.

I will have to absolutely disagree on that suggestion.

I have an ATI analog capturecard with both S-video and composite input, and the composite is MUCH better that S-video. I assumed that would be the case for his card also, since S-video has a limited bandwidth.

Reddwarf you must be thinking of something else; S-Video would always be better than composite, or at the very least just as good. I can't think of any reason composite would ever be better, unless something is very wrong.

Both my Hauppauge PVR150 PCI and USB tuners are pretty much the same for composite and s-video. Both are better than the RF output from my STB that I have to use due to distance and reverse direction channel changing.
