One channel (ABC) seems to be sending me two english audio streams, but only one works. Somehow npvr is selecting the one that doesn't work. I am able to select the one that works using the Ctrl-E, however if I skip forward or backwards it reverts back to the previous stream resulting in no audio.

Any way to fix this or at least have it stay persistant on the selected stream? In the NPVR.log.1 file at the very end I tried playing a file "Dancing with the Stars" and it had no audio.

Attached are the log files and here is a link to a video file for testing if needed on drop box. Drop Box Video

Hi ottoguy. Track 1 of the file you uploaded is two-channel AC3. Track 2 is also reportedly AC3, but does indeed appear to be dead. However NextPVR plays Track 1 by default, at least via the Videos plugin. (Tried to import the file into Recordings but was prevented by lack of metadata.) I learned in a recent thread that two-channel AC3 may perform poorly if any MPEG1 Audio decoder is enabled. You shouldn't need MPEG1 with Fios and an HDHomeRun Prime anyway, so try setting that to Disabled.

That file is standard-definition. Doesn't Fios give you the ABC station in HD? It would probably have six-channel AC3 audio.

I tried playing the recording in the Videos section and get the same result, no audio. I had MPEG1 disabled already, but have tried enabling it with no luck.

I am able to record the HD channel but I'm still in the stone ages with a non-HD tv so I don't have much need for an HD signal. The HD channel audio works correctly so I am just going to record the shows in HD anyway. It doesn't hurt, just takes up more space I presume.

I just downloaded the file and tried playing it here. Like Zeb, I got the correct audio.

I seem to vaguely remember something about a patch in this area though, so maybe you don't have the absolute latest?

I think this is the patch you remember, not one of the "Current Patches": http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post457853

That thread also involved one TV channel with two [AC3, eng] tracks. He wanted Track 1 (six-channel) but was getting Track 2 (two-channel).

I wonder if this is actually an AC3 decoder issue? I'm using AC3Filter and get Track 1 by default playing the sample files in both threads. I see LAV Audio Decoder in ottoguy's graph filter list, presumably for AC3. The log in the other thread shows AC3 Decoder Filter, which I think is the WinTV decoder. Maybe AC3Filter is best for handling cases like this?

I guess I missed a patch. I was probably already paying attention to something else... I'll add it quietly to the patch list, but I'm not going to call any attention to it.

Sub, I'm assuming whatever change is in that patch moved forward into the new version which you'd already done the first pre-release, it's not something separate you did just for 2.6.2 right?

Yeah, it'll be included in the next release.
