I just installed NPVR. I have a Haudpauge tuner with dual channels that I am using OTA. The tuners are being detected and I ran a scan of channels but the channels are distant stations in the nearby area. No stations are being detected that are close to me. And so far I have not found a station tha works.

How do I get my local stations?

Missing are channels 2,4,11,22 and 53 and their sub channels. All of these channels work in WMC. Channel 13 shows in the guide but does not appear to work. Channel 13 works fine in WMC

Also there are at least 3 stations in the area called Me. It is a sub channel of other stations. How do I know which Me station is listed in the Guide. And is there any way to show the stationl channel and sub channel number of the station?

You should post your NPVR.log after doing a scan so we can see the raw info about what channels it found.

Also, please provide us your zip code so that we can look up what channels you should be getting at http://www.silicondust.com/support/channels/

Finally, you may find it useful to put in your exact location at http://www.antennaweb.org to see exactly where your stations are located. If you have a directional antenna it will tell you where to point your antenna.

All channels are showing up now but all I get is a blank screen when trying to view live tv for the station.

My zipcode is 15136, I have tried several stations such as KDK, WPXI, WTAE. I get all of them in WMC just fine. WMC is shutdown BTW>

you need an HD capable MPEG-2 video decoder, and an AC3 Audio Decoder. If you're on Windows 7 I recommend the Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder for MPEG-2. For AC3 I currently use and recommend AC3Filter (http://ac3filter.net). Make sure you have these decoders selected in Settings->Decoders.
You can and should leave decoders for video/audio formats you don't need Disabled.

That did it! Thanks for your help and I see I have my clock and info box too!

Will guide info eventually download? I see some but not all guide info.

Unfortunately in the US you're very unlikely to get a guide from the broadcasts (since the info just isn't there).

You'll need to use either Schedules Direct or XMLTV.

Settings->Channels->Update EPG

However, you may find the OTA epg data to be inadequate and/or unreliable. I strongly recommend you use Schedules Direct or an XML grabber like MC2XML. Instructions for both can be found here: http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...n.XMLTVEPG

Schedules Direct is the simplest to setup, as support is integrated in NPVR, and it just works.

I tried MC2XML. Looks to me like the only options are for cable providers. I am OTA. I guess I could use still use MC2XML but the mapping would be tedious.

Maybe schedules Direct is the way to go.
