Issues after upgrading from 2.6.2 to 3.1.1

After upgrading I am having issues with recordings. The mediainfo is saying the stream is "Encrypted". However, there is video (albeit 4:3 instead of 16:9) and sometimes no video, just audio. This NEVER happened prior to the update. It is also not consistent. It doesn't happen on most recordings. They are just fine including having a normal mediainfo. Also, my channels are NOT encrypted.

Just wondering if anyone has seen this yet? Also, is there a good way to completely uninstall NPVR and install 2.6.2 without losing my channel config or recurring recordings? I can put everything else back in.

When it comes to recordings from the HDHomeRun Prime, it's just a dump of whatever data the device sends. NextPVR can't affect things like the aspect ratio and whether the content has flags set saying it's encrypted. So... I'm pretty sure this is nothing to do with the NextPVR new release, but rather changes in the stream at the hands of your cable company.

Sure, just restore the backup of NPVR.db3 and Config.XML you made before upgrading... oh, you didn't do that? Yeah, I never do either...

For the recordings, you can export your recordings from Settings->Recording->Export. You'll get two files, one for existing recordings, the other for recurring recordings. For the channels, you can try the channel Export function on the Devices screen, but I have no idea if that will work on a HDHR Prime nor if it will work going back-rev. Worst case you re-read the channels from the HDHR and map again.

Then you uninstall 3.1.1, (backup and) delete your NPVR.db3 and Config.xml, then install 2.6.2, import your channels or set them up again, and import your recording xml files.

But as sub said, going back to 2.6.2 probably isn't going to change anything.

I've seen that off and on for the 15 months I've had my Prime. It's some crap in the feed from the cableco - it's usually poor quality video as well.

I'm guessing it's just a coincidence. Honestly, NextPVR cannot change things like the aspect ratio etc - I'd actually need to decode the video stream at capture time, manipulate the data, then re-encode it, but I assure you that isn't happening. NextPVR just writes to disk whatever the prime delivers.
