I had a bsod and after that neither the UI nor the recording service will start. Windows just says the app has stopped working, and no logfile is produced. The only information is in the attached file. Any ideas?

I'm guessing one of your files have corrupted themselves.

Maybe try running "nrecord.exe RUN" to see if you get a more useful error message.

Nope, same thing happens, it does not even come to that stage where it is supposed to create a new logfile. I have tried to replace all files from a good backup, I have tried to restore windows to yesterdays state, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling npvr, no luck. I'm really at loss here Sad

A bit of the 'Straw-Clutching' for which I am renowned - have you checked that your config.xml and npvr.db3 are both readable?

Yes, as I said I rolled in a good backup with no luck. I'm afraid something vital in Windows is broken. Start from scratch...

Could it be a dotnet 4 corruption problem? MS have a repair tool here http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/...x?id=30135
It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh
