Hello there

Try this experiment.
start up nextPVR and press f2 for Live TV
press ctrl-k to start recording
Press escape to get out of live TV and go back to the main menu.
Then exit nextPVR, be careful you don't close the NDigitalHost.exe process
Open firefox and go into the newa interface.
Click manage recordings and then click on either panel view or table view.
Now click the name of the program you're recording, this should open a new window.
When I click on cancel recording, the window closes, but the recording won't stop.
Is this what happens on your machines?
I'm using the latest version of NextPVR with the -r1a patch.
Thanks.

You can't stop LiveTV from NEWA. The Ctrl-K version of a digital broadcast is actually a copy you are cancelling.

Yes you can. Or rather, you should be able to.
in Newa, there is a link you can click on that says "in progress" which displays the status of any TV programs you are recording. you can click on table view or panel view, and then you can click on the name of the program that's being recorded. a new window opens up, and there are 2 choices. close/take no action, and cancel recording. Obviously, if you can see the second option from the newa interface, it was put there intentionally.

Yes you can cancel an in-progress recording. That is not live tv which is a pseudo recording, that is automatically closed and deleted when you stop playing it. If you need a screen reader to stop live tv maybe you can use Right Click as the action and Stop is one of the verbs that show in the menu.

Yes I know the difference between a real recording and a pseudo recording via the LIVE TV option.
If you start up the live TV, there is a buffer of video that gets written to disk in real time, then it's deleted once the live tv screen is exited.
With a recording done via ctrl-k, a folder gets created on the disk and a file is permanently saved there.
The cancel recording option in the newa web interface doesn't seem to stop the recording process that was started with ctrl-k. The only way to truly stop it is to open up next pvr's gui and use the mouse to click through until you get to the recording you want and do it that way.

Ok sorry about that, now I understand what you have been saying all along. Yes there is a bug, but it has nothing really to do with Ctrl-K since in-progess recordings have it too. The Stream button on In-Progress recordings in Manage2.aspx is incorrectly labelled Cancel in Table and Panel View and there is no Cancel function at all.

Yes, I understand it doesn't have anything to do with using the hotkey ctrl-k, the problem is with the incorrectly label newa web link. If possible, I would really like this to be fixed.
Thanks.

Hi.
I've also noticed that if I make a mistake with entering some details while scheduling a manual recording, I am not able to go back and change some of them with Newa, I have to get sighted assistance to enter the GUI to do it.
I would really appreciate it if you could enable Newa to edit every aspect of the schedule, IE, it's name, the time of the recording etc.
Cheers and thanks.
