You could then assign non freesat channels their epg info from other sources, which would be one up on the Standalone boxes - they can only switch between Freesat / NonFreesat modes.
Ok, I've done this.

I can confirm that with the troubles I was having with OTA EPG I discovered that 99% of the Freesat channels only broadcast Now & Next.

The full Freesat EPG was only available on the transponder at Eutelsat 28A 11428 H. I had to put something like NKWA Radio in my channel list to pick up the full EPG for all the channels. Scanning the other Freesat frequencies for EPG is somewhat a waste of time and sometimes the process crashes leaving an incomplete EPG.

I think it's also a bit confusing when you have combined dual tuners so for example BBC1 on Freesat and BBC1 on Freview (Terrestrial). NPVR seems to scan both the Satellite and Freeview channels.....which takes precedence? Once combined I couldn't see a way of discretely adjusting the EPG settings.
NPVR Version= 7.0.1.241229

TBS-6205 quad DVB-T tuner

4Tb Media Store (2 x 2Tb M2 Nvme SSD Spanned)

Sub, it sounds like you've maybe done enough to deal with this for now anyway, but here's a full debug dump of a run with DVBGuide. There's less in it that I remembered, but maybe you'll see something helpful in it.

It shouldn't scan both if the channel combined. When combined they're a single channel, and channel only has a single EPG source.

Hi Sub,

So if I have terrestrial BBC1 set as OTA EPG and combine with BBC1 Satellite which was set as OTA EPG.... which source is used for the EPG... terrestrial or Satellite?

It depends which one you select when you merge them. (make a copy of the database before merging as you can't un-merge).
I haven't risked automerge though!

I'll playing with DVBGuide this evening...haven't had a chance yet. I can create batch files (although it's been a while). Hopefully that's have the bi-product of preventing the 2:00am crash that requires me to restart the recording service to watch through XBMC. If it doesn't I'll post another thread as seperate issue.

Thanks all...kinda looks like I opened up a can of worms!
