It would be a nice feature to add to the client though. The J River MC client sends a WOL packet and then retries n times until it can connect to the server. Works well.

For my PC client, I use a batch file to start it and sending a WOL is the first line.
For the PopcornHour NMT client its sends a WOL via the start script.
For the Samsung client, which can't send a WOL, I have to send one from a phone/tablet to wake my server up.
