Wait, maybe this is the missing nugget of understanding... are you using NextPVR to capture the stream from the hauppauge device and render it, then using that shadowplay app to capture the rendered output of NextPVR in realtime? I thought you were using shadowplay just to demonstrate the problem, but if that's actually part of your production sequence then I can finally understand why having the framerate drop when you minimize the window would matter. I still wouldn't understand why you'd be doing that, it seems bizarrely convoluted, but I'd figure you'd have your reasons.
If you're using NextPVR to record the stream, and then using the recording elsewhere, then worrying about the playback framerate dropping is silly (since NextPVR.exe is not doing the recording, whatever it does or doesn't do won't affect the recording being made by NRecord.exe, a background service).
in either case though, maybe one of sub's other products would work better for you? http://www.devnz.com... the next 3 after NextPVR all seem like they'd be useful to you.
