Hello guys and gals. My schedule isn't showing up. I'm trying to use this method: http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?....EPGMC2XML I am using the mc2xml method to try and get scheduling for my shows.
I followed this guide word by word and it's not working for my scheduling. Scheduling doesn't show up. Some of the prompts are broken and the buttons that I'm told the click don't show up. I even went into the channel menu to manually map the channel scheduling to the channel. Still nothing.
I am trying to scheduling for over the air broadcasts.
Please help me out, I've been trying to get this to work for the last three days.

My Specs
OS: Windows 10 (thinking of downgrading to Windows 7 to use WMC again)
CPU: AMD Athlon X3 450
RAM: 4 GB 1333 Mhz Kingston
Hard Drive(s): 2 TB WD Green, 3TB WD Green
Power Supply: 530 W Seasonic PSU 80 Plus Gold
Optical Drive: BD-ROM

Thanks for reading and helping!

There are lots of problems with mc2xml since MS changed data providers (this affects WMC also, to some extent). If you want something that really works and is fully ethical, then Schedules Direct is the answer. It costs $25/year and is well worth it. In addition, there is a 7 day free trial. It is supported natively in NPVR, no need to mess with xml files. You can review the threads here from the past week or so reporting guide problems. There might be a solution other than Schedules Direct.

I don't know, $25/year is a much lower cost than paying for a dedicated DVR. However, I paid nothing for my DVR which captured hundreds of hours of shows and sporting events. I really want to get it to work, if not I will just downgrade to Windows 7 and run it for five more years. Keep the suggestions rolling in, thanks a lot!

WMC on Win7 is a viable solution, as long as MS keeps the guide data coming. I don't see a compelling reason to go to Win10 over Win7, especially for a more or less dedicated DVR/media center.

You might check the WMC forums (the green button is one, I think) and see how the new guide provider is doing.

Personally I am not a fan of Windows 10, there are to many things lacking in it for me. Windows 8 Pro with Media Center will get you a few more years of support (I use mine with a 3rd party menu - adds 7 style menu). but is a little costly. to upgrade from Windows 7.
