Hi!
Does anyone know what the difference between the TBS6985 and the TBS6905 quad satellite tuners is?

I'm unsure of which to go for.

Thanks,
John

According to this page, TBS6905 is a successor of TBS6985. So, despite the fact the number has gone down, not up, the 6905 is just the newer version of the 6985. It's usually worth getting the new version, as the drivers are likely to be more up to date.

I would rather not recommend TBS products now.

I have a TBS6285 Quad tuner. It has been tested and the results I got is that running all 4 tuners together made it unstable and not able to last more than a few hours without the recordings failing.

The TBS department had the cheek to offer me only 30% refund and I still have to send the card back. Needless to say, I rejected the deal.

That's pretty poor. I had a dual DVB-S2 of theirs fail after several months. It would die after being on for some time - seemed heat related. They sent me a replacement card and I had no problems after that - still going 2 years later.

Are they only offering a 30% refund, or will they replace the card for you? If the latter is an option, I'd go for it, as it certainly fixed my issue. I had no problems dealing with them at the time.

Bill.

EDIT: I seem to recall the warranty was 2 years. How old is your card?
EDIT: Hmm, seems they only a 12 warranty now.

No they are not replacing the card, so that means 30% refund and I still have to return the card back.

It is 2 years warranty now isn't it?
