No channels found during ATSC scan (PVR-2250)

I finally decided to try and upgrade to NextPVR from my existing software (which works, but has not been supported or updated in years).

I seem to have no trouble installing NextPVR, and the software seems to find and identify my HVR-2250. However, I am having trouble getting NextPVR to find any ATSC channels during its scan. It does find the few unencrypted QAM channels my cable company provides, but that is all. The channels are available with my old software, for both live viewing and recording, so I know the cable is connected correctly and that my card works.

I have updated the drivers for my PVR-2250 to the newest version (33006).

After searching through the forums, I found a post that blamed the Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder, so I changed my decoder and tried again (without success). After each decoder change I made sure to OK the change and even tried restarting the computer. After I tried several decoders, I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling NextPVR, still without luck.

I have attached my logs after my most recent installation, then ATSC scan, then QAM SCAN, and then another ATSC scan.

Any ideas what I am missing or doing wrong?

There is no sign of obvious errors in those logs. It looks like everything went fine, but the device never locked onto a signal, so never delivered any data to NextPVR.

Does the Hauppauge WinTV software find the channels?

so you had your antenna connected, did an ATSC scan, then disconnected the antenna and connected the cable from your cable company, did the QAM scan which found quite a few channels but almost all encrypted, then reconnected your antenna again and did another ATSC scan?

Is it possible that the missing channels are actually analog cable channels? Analog support can be added to NextPVR as discussed in the Wiki.

I believe this is the problem. However, I followed the steps on the wiki (http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...alogDevice), and it appears the 2250 is already in the AnalogDevices.xml and that the device matches the data in the FilterCheck.log. I have attached the files. Am I missing something?

ah, so you were looking for analog NTSC cable channels. "ATSC" is digital channels from an antenna, hence the question in my post; I was confused, thought maybe you were doing the QAM scan to prove the card was working in general..

as Zeb suggested, you need the Hauppauge software installed to get the needed filter:
