3.5.7 and earlier only give you closed captions with MainConcept video decoder or some Intervideo decoders. The next release will give you closed captions with any video decoder.

Will the next release be anytime soon? I know this things are somewhat unknown but what is the usual schedule for updates - weekly, monthly, yearly?

also, can I just switch the decoder to MainConcept for now and will everything be ok?

It should be in the next few weeks. I usually do a release about every three or four months.

Yes, the MainConcept decoder should give you Closed Captions.

I tried the MainConcept decoder and there is no video. Guess I will just have to wait for the next update - At 73 years old and my wife need closed captions!!!
