Easy way to rename channels

I have > 500 channels and many of them appear int he guide like AMC 0036 when the 36 is already there. So you see 36 and then AMC 0036.1002. Would like it to simply say 36 AMC

ANy way to easily do that or will I need to edit them one by one

How are you at SQL? Name is a column in the Channel table in the NextPVR database. Alternatively, an editor for SQLite databases might allow you to change channel names one by one but a bit more quickly. I use SQLite Manager which is a Firefox Addon for some reason but is easy enough to use. The usual backup the database warning applies.
