We've had a few people with these types of problems over the years - not sure why it just strikes some users. Might be related to their audio device or something. You could try disabling the audio decoders you're not going to need. (ie, for an initial test, maybe just set them *all* to disabled, other than the one audio decoder type you'll need)

In the Recordings screen, when you select a recording, you'll see a 'delete' button.

OK so I configured NPVR, then upgraded to windows 10. But now NPVR won't start my TV at all. Is there some steps I need to do after upgrading? Thanks.

Fixed it. It had selected a non working audio decoder and had switched to this during the upgrade. I have no idea why. Hopefully just a small gremlin.

In the Settings --> Decoders screen, set all audio decoders to Disabled except MPEG1 ... MPEG1 is the decoder required for SD broadcasts in the UK. Try switching channels between SD channels. with only the MPEG1 decoder set. Does this give a smoother result? It may help us to focus on the source of the issue.

The audio decoder required for HD channels in the UK is HE-AAC ... For the long term, you can leave all audio decoders set to Disabled except HE-AAC and MPEG1.

Did you see this ... http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...dReference

The keyboard reference does not appear to mention "delete" ... I can delete recordings by pressing the "Record" button on my remote.

Nothing I have tried seems to work. Sometimes it will work for 10 minutes, then it will begin stuttering. It isn't just the audio. The video will occasionally stutter too. I have tried all of the advice here and nothing really improves the situation. I have been forced to switch to Kodi, with NPVR as the back end. The performance here is better, although there are occasional glitched with time shift recording in which Kodi will lose communication with the back-end during time shift playback. I may be forced to try a different back end. My main gripe with Kodi has always been the poor EPG support, but I have fixed this somewhat with the LiveTV PVR IPTV Simple Client. This has limitations also I think, in that I'm not certain schedule recordings using it. I haven't looked in depth yet however.

Clutching at straws ... NextPVR creates buffer files to allow pause and rewind of Live TV. Are these buffer files being "scanned" by anti-virus software resulting in stutters?

So much of media PCs is down to blind luck (or lack of). Take my situation - years of Windows 7 on an AMD APU setup - nary an issue. Decide I want some 1080p Netflix action (because they only let you have 720p on Windows 7 for some bizarre reason) so upgraded to Windows 10 and then the NPVR problems start - eg, loss of lipsync when pausing HD despite using the same MS decoder. Treated myself to an early Christmas present and upgraded to a new Intel Skylake setup. Now I still have loss of lipsync, *and* flickering video whenever NPVR draws an overlay over video, *and* I can't get any sound when running at 23.976fps. Drivers drivers drivers...hate the bloody lot of them.

Yeah I get the losing lip sync too when resuming from timeshift. It's a pity (and more than a pain) as NPVR has the kind of clean simple interface that I hoped would make a good replacement for WMC. I like Kodi, but it's probably overkill for my needs. The TV backend crashing after leaving it 'too long' on time shift isn't so great either. I may have to try a different back end after the holidays. I also have a couple of other DVB-T2 branded USB sticks (some nondescript Chinese ones) that work pretty well. Maybe I will try those too.

I've resorted to chucking a six-year old GPU (Radeon HD5450) into the box to fix most of my issues - crazy that I've had to do that, but at least I have clean video, working audio, and a happy wife for Christmas Big Grin

The lipsync issue still persists though; only with Live HD (never with SD) and a simple skip-back fixes it, but annoying none the less.
