Different "record" button

If I am watching something and use the remote and press "record", I get a message on the screen that states "recording". OK, great. But if you check the guide, the recording shows it will stop at the end of the listing. How about a record button that I have had on many other devices that when you pressed record it would start recording and every time you pressed it again, it would show the recording time increased by 30 minutes. It would be nice for when sports pushes what you wanted to record and the guide just does not follow the correct time.

No, I can not say I did. Must have not looked back far enough. At least someone else thought it was a good idea. Since there was not much comment on the subject, I guess it was classified as a "non useful idea." Oh, well.....

As a note to this, DirectTV allows you to record the series by pressing the record button twice. This is VERY handy.
