Are you actually scanning when you get this crash?

You'll need to narrow it down. How quick does it crash when you view the settings screen? Is it only after you visit a particular tab? ie, if you just open the Settings screen (on the default 'About' screen) and press ok, does it crash? If you do the same with 'General', does it crash? etc.

I narrowed it down, seems if I sit the settings on the Decoder's section, it crashes (log attached). Also scanning seemed to cause it (probably again, codec). It also *WILL* record but will not play any stream at all, the window shows up as *playing* but it's just blank. Again, had little time to do work with it, I'll try EVR on it (XP, but has .net 4.0 Full and all of the .net's validated 100%).

The issues with the full screen sitting behind the taskbar on startup AND the guide issue with the menu (can't get out of the guide without pushing back twice really fast, you'll see me actually do it). I'm going to attach the .7z of the .3gp (since it's not a recognized file format).

Also, tried a DVD (has about 8 2 second "warning" screens), tried pushing the >> to skip past each warning screen, but as soon as I did it on one of them, the playback stopped (the bar at the bottom showed 0:00 of 0:02 [seconds]) and sat there, the only way out was manually ejecting the disc. Upon re-insertion of the disc, the warnings played and I didn't touch the >> button, but this time it popped up saying "Do you want to continue off were you left" all the while the DVD was playing in the background (and got further than I did), couldn't read the prompt or see the button that was highlighted, so just clicked the left button (OK) and it went back to where I ran into the trouble but did progress, so I left it until it got to the menu. The menu has highlight (yellow ball) which should be beside the text, but winds up over top of the middle of it.

Devices caused the crash. I checked and was able to get the stream to show (EVR and the Cyberlink Mpeg2 decoder), so it's working in that sense, just seems whenever I go in to scan channels it crashes. But I *can* scan the channels, though the first time it does, it goes crazy, second time it gets it. Though oddly, we were looking at 2.1-2.3, 5.1, 7.1-7.3, 9.1, on a scan (to see if anything new happened along), it found 2.1-2.3, 4.1, 5.1, 9.1, yet the 7.1-7.3 were missing and after cancelling the scan (and close of the software for the crash), reopened it and checked 7.1-7.3, they show fine. This wasn't using the Media Center versions of the card (not sure if it would have made any difference).

Not sure if this is in the instructions or not, but that scan, is it a "replace after scan" or a "merge after scan", as I found that sometimes the scan loses channels that work perfectly fine and therefore I don't "Okay" (commit) the changes.

Guide request:

I missed a show "Marvel's Agent Carter", because the recording I started (New episodes on this channel) had "Marvel's Agent Carter (Season Premier)". Any way for it to omit anything inside ()'s in the name or *ignore it possibly*? I had to delete it as it wouldn't find any more shows to record (obviously because they're not all going to have "(Season Premier)" on the end), and will add it when I see it again without the additional ().

MCE versions of tuner don't seem to work (for recording), if used, software seems to record "nothing" but says it's fine in the recordings listing (0 file size is "okay"). Any way to place the file size on the GUI so that we can verify the length of the file?

Remote's "Power" button causes the machine to "Sleep" during recordings (accidentally killed a recording not noticing the time). The recording didn't seem to stop sleep from happening (Win7).

Have to remove "recurring" recordings and recreate, cannot change type from "time" to "All New Episodes" as some shows moved recently.

On this PC, where there is 1 tuner, back to back recordings (7PM to 8PM and 8PM to 9PM on the same channel [both guide selected]) fail to record the second show because apparently the tuner is "busy" when the second show tries to record. Noticed on the quad tuner HTPC machine, that back to back recordings (same channel) use 2 tuners.

Some shows start ~30 seconds in when playing for the first time, having to push << a few times to get to the start, ComSkip hasn't got it marked as commercial, so no idea why it's jumping. For the most part, not all shows start at the beginning and with the 2 second no-video at the start, you miss out on the video from the beginning. The TS file has the 2 seconds of video, the playback in NPVR does not show the first 2 seconds of video in the file or after a skip forward or backward (another 2 second delay).

Updated K-Lite on this PC, crashes NPVR's Decoder and DVD section, going to try SAF6 to see if this resolves anything, not a big problem as I know the decoders worked, but data execution prevention was killing NPVR in those sections.
