Channel Scan Freezes

Hi,

I have used NPVR previously with my WinFast DTV Dongle Dual Filter. It worked fine. Channel scans took a while, but got there eventually.

I have now added to a new PC, and the channel scans just freeze the app completely. Sometimes it makes it through a couple of frequencies but innevitably freezes in the end leaving me with no channels.

My log is attached (taken at the point Windows reported the app as Not responding).

Any help would be much appreciated!

Does the tuner work with the software that came with it? That is the first trouble shooting step for device drivers etc. Also is your new PC Windows Server? If so you need to use a search engine to find out how to install the BDA drivers.

I'm pretty sure that the tuner is not finding a signal. Can you get a result by testing with the shortest possible aerial coax and with any coax splitters removed? Is it possible that the tuner hardware is broken?

Thanks both. Turned out it was a hardware error. I tried with another PC with built in tuner and it picked everything up perfectly. Guess Amazon Prime will have to deliver in the morning!
