I thought that I would give an update to this thread.

I made a decision on a mini PC and put it into service today. I ended up with a Gigabyte Brix, GB-BXi5H 5200-BN, i5 2.2GHz / 2.7 GHz CPU.

I installed 8GB DD3 RAM, a 60GB mSATA for the OS and a 2.5 500GB for recordings. I changed my original plan of using my NAS for recordings. My testing didn't prove out so well. The NAS that I have is not the best or the speediest of devices and I would get lag, so I decided on something that I could add in an internal drive.

I had some issues getting channels setup. I use a HomeRun Prime. I got HDHomeRun setup on the new PC, installed NextPVR and scanned in the channels. Between standard and HD, I have over 400 channels. After removing all of the crap that gets added, I should have around 170. I then try to add them into the EPG and I notice that several channels are missing. Go back to the device setting, look at the tuner and I see that the channels are no longer in order and seem to be all messed up, plus went from 170 channels down to 140. Re-scan, re-add to the EPG (multiple times), and everything is still just a mess. I finally exported the channel list from the original setup, and imported in. Now the channels are correct, all present and in order. Not sure why things were so messed up previously.

Initial TV viewing is good. No lag or pixelating. I have some shows scheduled to record, so we'll see how well it does with that.

Thanks

Daryl
