HD Channels not coming in - only audio

Hi,

Was wondering do I need to install a codec or something because on my Ceton Infinitv 6 pci-e cablecard only the SD channels display properly. The HD channels do not come in at all. Do I need to install a codec?

Does your cable company still transmitting all of the channels in MEPG2? Or is it gradually converting the channels to H 264? There are cable companies that are switching ever thing over to H 264 over a period of weeks.

You can try setting the H 264 video decoder (under Setting | Decoder) to use the Microsoft decoder.

I also think that you will have to a rescan of the channels to tell NextpVR that some/all of the channels are using H264. An expert will have to step in here and verify because I am OTA.

I'm not sure. I have Comcast with all the HD channels. Thing is it works with Jriver Media Center. No problem playing 1080p content.

Comcast is one of the cable companies that is converting to MPEG4.

You might find some useful information in this this thread:http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...act-hassle. Note: most of that thread is dealing with SD HDHomeRunPrime but there is also stuff channel number changes and Station name changes.

You might want to do a search on Comacast and see if anybody is using a Centon card like you.

Have you just started using NExtPVR?

The Microsoft DTV-DVD video decoder should work for h264 in NPVR. You should be able to select it from the Settings/Decoders/h264 drop down list.
