I created an advanced rule to record Western Movies.

Quote:genres LIKE '%western%' AND genres like '%movie%'

However I see there is no option in Man-Rec for a folder.

Is there something I can add to the advanced rule to record to a specific directory choice like the existing Westerns folder in the config file.

I also noticed this rule is recording movies I already recorded and that are in the database.

If you haven't broken it at least once, you're not doing it right. :eek:

Sorry, it's not currently possibly to set the recording directory for manual recordings - mainly because there was no room left on the popup for me to place this control.

Is there a problem with me making an xml input file and adding <RecordingDirectoryID>[Western Movies]</RecordingDirectoryID> to it? If so, do I create a random OID higher than my last one or leave it blank and let NPVR decide one? The current OID is 268. Will oid 268 be overwritten or will the import be ignored if I import this since there is already a oid 268. I guess I could delete the current rule before I import the new xml?

Like this?

Quote: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<recurrings>
<recurring>
<oid>268</oid>
<name>Western Movies</name>
<matchrules>
<Rules>
<ChannelOID>0</ChannelOID>
<ChannelName>All Channels</ChannelName>
<StartTime>2017-03-26T09:00:00.0000000Z</StartTime>
<EndTime>2017-03-27T08:50:00.0000000Z</EndTime>
<PrePadding>1</PrePadding>
<PostPadding>1</PostPadding>
<Quality>0</Quality>
<Keep>0</Keep>
<RecordingDirectoryID>[Western Movies]</RecordingDirectoryID>
<AdvancedRules>genres LIKE &apos;%western%&apos; AND genres LIKE &apos;%movie%&apos;</AdvancedRules>
</Rules>

</matchrules>
</recurring>
</recurrings>

I thought about copying Newa's Manual recording webpage ManualRecord.aspx which ironically has the directory folder option for man-rec but has no advanced rules field and adding an advanced rules field but not sure what the field should be named or even if the form's post is written to handle the new field.

Yes, you can prpbably do that. Delete your original rule first (so it's not trying to schedule the shows twice).

Done worry about the <oid> it'll be ignored and it'll create a new one when you use the 'Import Recordings' button.

Yes, the xml file worked great. Thanks Sub

This is interesting... so one could use this method to record shows that are not season shows and have the placed into a different folder...

i still have to learn mcebuddy's advanced rules as I believe you can have it move to plex folders based on type... so im wondering if this would just be easier..

got to look more into this. ...
