Since updating to 4.0.4 I get random hangs of the software. The recording service continues to work, but watching live tv or recordings will after some amount of time eventually end up with the playback stopping and the program becoming unresponsive until it just has to be closed.

The previous versions had various quirks such as the program sometimes crashing after watching a recording, but not random crashes in the middle of everything.

Does it make any difference if you tick the 'use legacy reader and demux' on the Settings->Decoders screen?

No, it behaves the same with the legacy reader and demux checked or unchecked.

I'm also seeing NextPVR hang during playback and when watching live tv. It might happen a couple/few times in a day or a couple/few times in a one hour show. It happened a couple times a year, if that, in 3.92 and earlier versions.

Attempting to play back through the spot where it hangs results in it playing through ok some times and hanging some times.

I suspect the changes for the native reader/demux made even the legacy reader and demux and decoder chain less robust.

I'm using the legacy versions since the new one fails to tune in two of my US ATSC stations. Weird and it's not a signal strength issue.

I'd go back to 3.92 but I changed EPG source since 3.92 and had to redo everything. I have a backup of the full NPVR 3.92 directory but am unsure how to import my current database and station/EPG related files or if it's even possible.

If you create c:\temp directory, and reproduce a crash, do you get a c:\temp\crash.mdmp you can supply me?
