Okay it works right now, when can we change the skin?

I don't know much about skinning; can give me a clue where to start? (E.g. a good skin example)

Take the basic Blue.
Make a copy of the whole skin somewhere.
Open the skin.xml file, found in the MainMenu folder.
Start by taking all the places that say "DrawRoundedRect" and make it say "DrawRect".
Now they'll be square
Remove the bit that says "radius="xx". You don't need it with rectangles.
Look for the bit at the bottom that says, the number of items and change it to 3.
Change the spacing to 100.
Mess with it. It's the only way to learn.

I should leave the skinning (i.e. how it actually will look like) to the experts. In your code you should grab all graphical elements (colors, size/location of boxes, fonts etc.) from the skin.xml file. The GBPVRUtilities contain some functions which can help you with it.
You might take a look at the source of other plugins on the Wiki (such as 'my' RSS-Reader), to see how it is solved there.

I haven't got any IMAP-account, so i can't build/test it. I'm willing to publish the source-code; so someone can add IMAP-support. It shouldn't be that hard i guess. (This is the dev-forum; right? )

I've found some .NET examples for implementing IMAP, so I'd be willing to try to integrate this into your app if you'd want to send me the source code.
If not, I can give you a temporary IMAP mailbox to test with if you're willing to add that code yourself.

v02: Skinning and Configuration panel

I published a new release of the Email plugin. You can download it from the first post.

• added skinning: i implemented full skinnability. I don't know much about skinning; so if something doesn't work or is sub-optimal, please let me know. I only gave it a try to build the Red Sky skin. Reboot made the Blue skin (thanks)
  
• added configuration panel: at the place you would expect it. It also features testing the account-settings.
  
• account-settings are stored in config.xml. The configuration panel is "backwards-compatible"; settings from email.xml are read, and automatically stored in config.xml
  

If you're upgrading from v1; you have to go to the configuration panel to convert email.xml.

Just installed it.
I open it, in RedSky, and it flashes very quickly the "downloading mail", then sits there.
I can skin it, and it looks nice, but it doesn't work.
You have to go into config, edit the settings, then test, THEN it works.
