Hi Sub,
I know you've done a fair bit of experimentation with Ace IPTV. Have you looked at all at accessing the Catch Up content that they offer?
Personally I've found recording IPTV channels to be quite unreliable, so the catch up content may offer a better way of getting shows that I can't watch live.
If you haven't looked at it - unfortunately the catch up content isn't listed in the M3U I can download - but from looking at what Kodi does when accessing this content I can see that for the supported channels, you can just use a URL that specifies the stream number, date and time, and duration, and you get a stream of that content. Perhaps it would be possible to access this using the OnDemand function - even if it means I need to create a correctly formatted M3U myself?
I can download this content using a browser, or save it with VLC as a .ts and it plays ok. However, trying to watch the files in NPVR hasn't worked for me. If I play the file via the Videos option in NPVR it plays, but the duration shows as 1 second and I can't navigate. (But if I understand correctly this method uses DirectShow rather than NPVR's .ts reader?)
I also tried setting one or the stream URLs as an IPTV channel as a test, and I can't play or record from this IPTV channel in NPVR.
