Can anyone help me please?
I tune my PVR to the Brierley Hill (UK) transmitter which has had two major changes in frequencies over the past week. Allegedly to make room for more mobile bandwidth for 5G.
Everyone using this transmitter has had to do a full retune, but now the only way to tune NVPR to this transmitter is to tune to All Regions-Frequencies. This takes a long time and the results are not very good on some channels.
I cannot understand the information that I can find online in a way that I could rewrite the tuning .ini file for this transmitter with the correct and accurate frequencies.
The information I have found is below;
27th Feb 2018
The multiplex carrying 4Music, Ideal World, 5Spike, Yesterday and Talking Pictures TV among other channels (multiplex COM6) is changing frequency on 1st March 2018 - from UHF channel 55 to 37.
7th March 2018
This is the second retune date in two weeks.
The vast majority of Freeview channels are moving frequency, including all BBC and ITV channels, most of Channel 4's services, all of Channel 5's services, most other commercial channes and local TV channel Made in Birmingham. The only services unchanged are those that already moved to new frequencies last week, such as Talking Pictures, 5Spike, Yesterday.
Freeview national channels will move from UHF channels 60, 57, 53, 50 and 59 to UHF channels 32, 34, 35, 29 and 31. Multiplex COM6 will remain on 37 (it moved last week), Made in Birmingham moves to UHF channel 33 from 29.

Source for the above information;

Can anyone help me rewrite this 'UK-Brierley Hill.ini' file please??

I'm also not sure about any affect for the tuning of HD Channels I cannot find any information about that.

Many thanks
Bob

This may help. Centre frequency is the main one you need for the channels you want to scan via the ini file.

We had our Winter Hill changes yesterday (joy.....not!)

Try this one for size:

According to this http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/__data/assets...ral_v4.pdf
You only get COM 1 to 6 and the Local Mux from Brierley Hill TX

And for anyone else I am open for requests fo other TX's.
It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh

I've just realized the ini I posted this morning has the Channel No's in the tuning strings - if it doesn't work try this one.

Thanks for all the help with this I found the frequencies chart but was not sure how to apply it.
Managed to get a good tuning ini now.
But it looks like this issue is going on inthe Uk right through to 2020!!
Not something to look forward to.

If you use the Digital UK Coverage Checker and select "Detail View" you get a a list of local transmitters the first in the list being the suggested one. For each there there is a list of the channel used by each mux and a separate line for each change event. Some transmitters have major frequency changes over the next months but at Ridge Hill my local transmitter the only change was that the temporary HD mux Com 7 & 8 have been kicked into the long grass up at channel 55 & 56 way out of the frequency range of my old group A aerial. I do have a twin satellite tuner so can can get most of the missing channels via Freesat. Not sure its worth investing in a wideband aerial as Com 7 & 8 are due to be switched of some time after 2020.

There are so many changes over the next two years it not realistic for Sub to keep the ini files up to date for all transmitters even if we all send him the updated ini file for our area!!
