Recently, I missed a recording as I realized that the channel mapping info was wrong for one of my channels. I changed it to the correct one, but now I've noticed that when I click on 'Details' for some channels it doesn't show the channel I just picked, but if I go to the 'Bulk Map', it is correct - and based on the listings, it certainly seems I'm getting the right listings.

I checked the channels and here are examples of what I'm seeing:
Network: CBC; #5.1; Details: CBC Toronto (6); Bulk Map: CBC Toronto (6) -> match
Network: CTV; # 9.1; Details: CITSDT YES HDTV (9); Bulk Map: CTV Toronto (8) - > not a match; CTV callsign is CFTO, not CITS
Network: TVO; # 19.1; Details: CICA TVOntario (141); Bulk Map: CICA TVOntario (2) -> not a match, but CICA is correct callsign and listings are same
Network: TheCW; #23.1; Details: CBC News Network (23); Bulk Map: WNLO (166) -> not a match, different stations
Network: Global TV; #41.1; Details: Global Ontario/CIII (3); Bulk Map: Global Ontario/CIII (3) -> match
Network: City TV; #57.1; Details: Black Entertainment Television (Canada East) (57); Bulk Map: City Toronto (7) -> not a match

So it seems the info I see when I click on the 'Details' button is based on matching up a listing with the channel number (mostly). In any case, it's strange that when I change the mapping in the 'Details' area it doesn't seem to 'stick'? But it does show correctly in the bulk map.

Any idea what's going on here?

Sometimes this happens because there is multiple versions of the same channel in your lineup. Behind the scenes, there is only single set of listings for those multiple channels though, so it doesn't matter which of those it's mapped too. The logic maybe slightly different between two screens, to show which of those might be selected. (behind the scenes, it's not mapped to the name you see, but the next lower layer which is the single set of channels listings, and there is multiple options the user might have chosen, and it has to choose one)

Yes, I noticed there are often multiples of the same channel in the available listings. This is true for 2 out of 6 in my list, but for the rest, the channels listed in Details have no connection to the corresponding ones in Bulk Map.

If you go into the details screen for those settings, are those same options still available in the drop down? They could be channels that have been deleted from your lineup?

Otherwise, if you want to supply your npvr.db3, I can check it here.

Yes, in the Details screen the drop down contains all the channels.

I'll see about the npvr.db3 tomorrow, I'm tinkering with the listings at the moment. I switched to a different option for sourcing the listings. Still via the tvguide.com site, but it had different options for cable and satellite listings. Also picked a slightly different locale (still within the Toronto area).

At first I was getting 'no listings' for some of the channels but got it working again. Now when I compare Details to Bulk Map, it's similar to what I described in my OP except it's different channels which match/don't match.

Ok here is the npvr.db3 file, in a 7z archive

I had a quick look in there, saw some stuff that surprised me. I recently deleted some channels (eg Fox) but still saw some reference to it in the db3 file.

One thing I wanted to do was reduce the amount of data downloaded for the listings. I used to use mc2xml which had a 'channel list' feature. This feature allowed you to create a list of channels and it would only pull data for those, which made for quick listings updates and less bandwidth usage. Doesn't seem to be an equivalent feature with zap2xml (I realize this has nothing to do with NPVR, just mentioning). Then more recently when the changes to the zap2it site happened, for some reason I could not get the listings to work with that site, but I could with tvguide. (though it seems they are the same site or owned by the same company?)

In any case, listings and recordings work as expected. Only odd behaviour is that sometimes the Details screen shows different channels than the Bulk Map screen, and it seems to be because the program parses the listing and finds the one that matches the assigned channel number.

Can you also zip and attach c:\zap2xml\xmltv.xml? It can just be empty one, with just the list of channels.

Added it with the previous post and updated the channel info in the OP. This is now my lineup.

Try this patch - it should fix it.
