LiveTV playback all broken up after win 1803 update

I am having a similar issue. After the Windows 1803 update today, the sound and video in live tv are now many seconds apart from each other when watching using the Kodi NextPvr client. Watching in NextPvr application or HD Homerun client seems okay. This problem could be a related to your issue. I will let you know if I find a fix.

Update: Removed the splitter, uninstalled and re-installed NPVR and also changed the tuner card to a different PCI slot - result - no difference, still getting the broken up picture. I'm going to try another PVR app to see if that changes things. Will keep you informed. cheers

When it comes to recording, you get pretty much an exact copy of what comes out of the tuner. If you're seeing corruption in a recording, when played back in another player like VLC, like you indicated above, is a pretty solid clue that you're getting some garbage from the device (and almost certainly signal related). Definitely worth checking it in the software that came with the device though.

Actually, this doesn't sound like the same issue. Original poster had corruption going on. It sound like you've got some audio/video sync issues playing back in Kodi. You're both using 1803, but otherwise sound like you're reporting different issues.

While I think passive splitters are the work of the devil and to be avoided, if it literally only started happening after a win10 update (and was fine before) AND affects the recordings by stuttering in the precise same place when playing back in VLC, this would suggest (to me at least) an issue with the drivers. If the stuttering happens in different places when playing back a previous recording repeatedly, it may be a graphics card issue.

Given that this tuner is 8-10 years ago, none of the drivers will have likely been tested so you might just be out of luck and need to either roll back and block future updates (it is possible) or get new tuners.
