I just attempted to launch GBPVR and the Installation Wizard came up. Like an idiot, I sat and watched the blue bar creep across the screen. When it was done after about 20 seconds I opened GBPVR. Everything was wiped out - all my recorded files, settings and TV guide. Unfortunately, my last system restore was before I initially installed it. I located the videos on my hard drive, but the program information is gone. I can reconfigure, but how do I keep this from happening again?

While I'm here, what format does GBPVR record in on medium quality? I believe it's MPEG-2.

If you haven't guessed, I'm a noob.

Thanks in advance.

I had the same thing happen to me yesterday.. This is my solution. First look in your gbpvr directory. There is a mdb called old.mdb it is the backup. You can rename it back. Install xrecord and hit the stop button it will pull up a popup. Click export all. This will export .dat files for all of your shows which have all of the information. You can use the config.exe to configure xrecord to merge videos and ready shows in one list.

I do not know why it occurs. Hopefully sub can figure it out. At least rename old.mdb back to gbpvr.mdb.

Thanks for the reply.
I can't seem to open the old.mdb file. The window tells me that I need to know what program created it. Any ideas?
Also, what is xrecord and where do I get it?
I know that there are basic things that I should know, but like I said, I'm a noob, and not too bright.

mdb = microsoft database, ie you need microsoft access to open it.
you can get xrecord and every other plugin over at the wiki (http://gbpvr.bladerhq.com/).

try just renaming
gbpvr.mdb to new.mdb

and
old.mdb to gbpvr.mdb

And launch gbpvr again you might have your recordings back. If it fails rename them back.
