IPTV channel numbers

Just checking to see if my understanding is correct or if I am missing something.

If I import via .ts a collection of channels and then export the downloaded information and then edit
the channel number information and then restore the updated information, NPVR changes the channel numbers
but the list is not sorted based on the updated channel numbers and remains in the original 1 to n sequence.
Furthermore when the list is used in the Kodi pvr addon the channel numbers are reverted to their 1 to n numbers
ignoring the updated/changed channel numbers completely.

Is this how it is suppose/intended to work or am I very slow and have not done something correctly? If I am stupid just say so.

When you initially import IPTV channels into NextPVR, they start are allocated a channel number starting with 1 and increasing. You can later change these channel numbers if you want.

Kodi will show the same channel numbers as NextPVR uses (assuming you still l have 'use backend channel numbers' enabled in Kodi).
