I have NextPVR working through a browser, but when I try to view LiveTV with NEXTPVR I get nothing and the program crashes out.

My assumption is a decoder setup is not correct, but how to determine why it works to play LiveTV through the browser but not through the software?

That is where I need it to function so I can record programs.

Any help I can receive will be fully appreciated.

Thanks.

It is likely down to your decoders. Try watching Live TV, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

How and where do I find the logs? As I said, totally new user here. Thank you.

On the Settings->About screen there is a big button labelled 'zip my log files and show me where the zip file is' button. Use that.

Ok, a bit of an update, I downloaded the win 10 dvd player and got the ffdshow installed. I did test a recording and needed to change my decoder for mpeg2, once I did I go the recording to play.

However, I still cannot get livetv to work, except through the browser. I can live with this setup, as I can play through the browser and as long as recording works I can record and still play. I have no tv listings also, so will install the tv listing tool I see in the wiki.

Here is the log file, I assume I still have something not setup correctly. Your help is greatly appreciated.

It looks like you've got your live tv buffer directory set to c:\temp.

Does this directory exist? When you try to watch live tv, does a file get created in this directory?

You might want to consider Schedules Direct for EPG data ... many folk consider it to be inexpensive and worth the money because it just works.
