update EPG from PSIP data of current live channel I am watching

Is it possible to update the program guide (TV guide) for the current ATSC channel that is being viewed live?
Of course this presumes the user waits long enough for the program data to arrive before changing channels.

There are a number of benefits: updating a small number of channels, updating the channel most often viewed, more current data, info on the current live channel, etc.

It is likely that the software already decodes much of the PSIP data of the live channel already for other purposes.
Many HDTVs (Samsung etal.) have been collecting PSIP from the current channel to dynamically load their EPG.

It used to do this in the past, and have a check box for enabling/disabling the feature, but some users had issues with it so it was disabled a while back.

Honestly though, in the US you're better off just using Schedules Direct, where you're going to get more than 6 hours worth of listings.

Just suggesting a wishlist item. I respect that there may be a prioritized list somewhere.

If it helps to debug "issues" as noted by sub, I can say that performing an EPG update [settings>channels>update EPG] when the tuner has difficulty finding a desired ATSC channel [no signal] causes NextPVR to prematurely exit [terminate].

This probably belongs in some other thread. The relevant intent is to assist to narrow the past issue, and thus allow the return of enable/disable updating EPG data for the current channel being viewed or recorded. By fixing this problem, maybe the entire software is more stable and thus allow interesting advancements and/or excellent old features to be reinstated.

FYI, I recently changed from the default 60 second scan per channel to 10 seconds, but the same occurs.

Not sure about the crash problem since that is for sub, but using the OTA EPG guide in Canada and US is a waste of time for a PVR. I strongly consider that you consider Schedules Direct.
