I have searched the forums but I think I might not be searching for the right name. Is that a file that stores all the EPG data? I download from Schedules Direct. Can I open the guide data in a XML and search or is it a proprietary or encrypted file?

The listings are stored in the npvr.db3 SQLite database file. You can use any SQLite tool to look at it.
