IPTV Recordings failing

I'm trying to use the scheduled recordings feature to record shows from my IPTV service to my PC. It automatically starts on time but, the recordings run for a minute or so and then fail every time. There's no error displayed. I looked at the logs and don't see anything obvious (to me, at least) that's causing the problem. I was recording to an external USB 3.0 hard drive. I switched over to the internal SSD but it didn't help. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Your logs shows it transcoding the source IPTV. It shouldn't have to do this, but some changes to an IPTV provider recently caused this. Try this updated NShared.dll file:

Try this updated NShared.dll file: I'm thinking that the .dll file helped some. The recordings are now averaging about 3 minutes before they stop. And, if you check status, it appears that it's recording for the whole time. But, the resulting file is only about 3 minutes long. I've attached the entire NRecord log file. I really do appreciate any help sent my way.

Does your IPTV provider give you the option of using m3u8 (hls) streams? If so, this would give us better logging to see what is happening.

I can generate a text file for HLS that has a list of all the channels. I tried to import it into the IPTV device in NPVR and it will only open XML files. There are several different output options that generate text files as well as .cfg and .tv files (I also found one that created an xml file but when I tried to open it, I got an error in NPVR). I can't find a URL for an m3u8 file. Should I ask their tech support for an m3u8 link? Thanks!

Note "m3u" and "m3u8" are two unrelated things. The "m3u" urls give a list of channel urls. These are used for both ts and hls/m3u8 streams. Your m3u currently has ts streams. Most IPTV providers also have a version of the "m3u" url, which will return the channels using hls/m3u8 streams instead of the ts format. (the hls/m3u8 stream are usually required by apple devices, but also useful in NextPVR to get better logging) |
