Using Hauppage PC card. Used to update but not anymore on several channels. Ran channel update on Hauppage client and it works fine but when switching the NPVR several channels not updated and no video. Go to details to update EPG but no help.

I expect you have a ATSC signal not DVB. In the Hauppauge client is the guide data OTA or from TV Titan?

I am using 1290 video card since 2010. NPVR has never had a problem loading EPG unless there was a digital channel channel. I updated the Hauppauge tuner channels and they all work fine. I have exited and rebooted NPVR but it will not update EPG or channels freq. as it has done in the past. Theere is no TV guide with WINTV 8.5. I have used Titan on diiferent browser page. But NPVR always had the info till now.

The best thing to do is send your logs showing the re scan and the EPG update. There was a DFW repack recently so you need to do that.

FYI, in the US they're only required to transmit 6 hours of listings, so that is typically all they ever transmit. So...if your EPG update is happening at 3am, by 9am in the morning your guide will look empty.

Your overnight EPG update seems to be working fine, and pulling in listings:
Quote:2019-08-07 02:30:40.341 [DEBUG][10] - saving 16 listings for channel: KDFI-DT
2019-08-07 02:30:40.341 [DEBUG][10] - saving 16 listings for channel: Movies!
2019-08-07 02:31:45.136 [DEBUG][10] - saving 37 listings for channel: KDAF-DT
2019-08-07 02:31:45.136 [DEBUG][10] - saving 46 listings for channel: Antenna
2019-08-07 02:31:45.136 [DEBUG][10] - saving 15 listings for channel: This TV
2019-08-07 02:31:45.136 [DEBUG][10] - saving 26 listings for channel: Charge
...etc

Long story short - the broadcast tv guide info in the US is next to useless, so most people in that part of the world use Schedules Direct, which gives them multiple weeks of listings, show artwork, season/episode numbers etc.

Completely uninstalled NPVR including NPVR folders. Downloaded NPVR and re-installed. All is well now. "UPDATE EPG" appears to NOT function correctly on old install but worked fine on newly installed. SO when more stations change frequently in the Dallas area looks like I will have to uninstall/re-install each time???????????

You could try ... make a copy of npvr.db3 (just in case) and then rescan in Settings --> Devices.

I am not sure how ATSC rescan work (and I didn't see one in the log you posted) but you might have had to redo the EPG mapping in the guide after the scan too.

Fortunately ATSC rescans unlike clear QAM are not that common.

NPVR should always look for new events and especially Unanticipated and Emergency Situations.

As detailed in Section 5, all ATSC-compatible digital broadcast television multiplexes are required to carry at least the following PSIP tables:
  • Master Guide Table, repeated at a required minimum rate of once every 150 msec.
  • System Time Table, repeated at a required minimum rate of once per second.
  • Rating Region Table, repeated at a required minimum rate of once per minute if present.
  • Terrestrial Virtual Channel Table, repeated at a required minimum rate of once each 400 msec.
The first four Event Information Tables, representing up to twelve hours of program schedules (see Tables 5.1 and 5.2 for recommended repetition rates). Further EITs may be transmitted if a broadcaster wishes to provide program schedules beyond half a day; it is recommended that at least 24 be sent. (See Section 6.4 for more information.) A receiver is required to handle data rates of PSIP data in PID 0x1FFB (base_pid) of up to 250 kbps.

We can see similar problem in certain paid MC:
Quote:The problem is that many ATSC station offer less than 24 hours of EPG in the future. In a couple of case here, it is less than 6 hours of EPG data. Being able to scan for ATSC EPG only every 24 hours is limiting.
