It's not entirely clear what he is saying. It might be a device that appears as a network adapter when plugged into usb (like USB cable card devices do), and that network adapter is able to access the SAT>IP protocols being served up by the device.

SAT>IP local API is early beta.
Sundtek, are you able to supply a sample device, so I can ensure it works well in NextPVR? (I'm the developer of NextPVR)

Currently we don't have ATSC in stock.

Sundtek MediaTV Pro supports AnalogTV, S-Video, Composite (all three of them support v4l/v4l2) and DVB-T/T2, DVB-C
Sundtek SkyTV Supports DVB-S/S2/S2X (there's also a dual version available, a quad and octo (USB3.0) will follow soon), we're just replacing the Texas Instruments voltage regulator due to audible noise of the power supply on the quad and octo tuners (TI is good, but their voltage regulators are a shame).
Sundtek Dual ATSC (is cooking, PCBs are in the engineering lab, they should be ready within 2 weeks).

There are a bunch of other devices upcoming as well but they will be announced once they're ready. The multituners are all FPGA backed.

On Mac instead of open/ioctl/mmap/munmap/close net_open/net_ioctl/net_mmap/net_munmap/net_close has to be used to access the devices and the application has to be linked against libmediaclient.dylib. The driver is a server, and communication is done via sysv IPC and domain sockets (wrapped behind the net_* commands).

Which transmission standard are you looking for?

- We have a driver (which is a local server on MacOS, no external connections)
- We have a streamingserver (which is another server) which supports streaming via HTTP/TCP; DLNA is implemented and works with VLC, SAT>IP is not fully ready yet, work will be resumed once all the new devices are ready which is very soon hopefully.

I'm in New Zealand. DVB-S and/or DVB-T are best for me.

In case you are able to help out with a sample device, I'll PM you my address here in New Zealand.

Cheers.
