multiple tuners

I seem to be missing the trick. I have a Hauppauge hvr-1250 and a hvr-1600. Each works fine when installed by itself; nothing works if both are installed. I can scan one tuner for either ATSC or QAM but the scan will not start on the second tuner.
This is the latest logs, I can't figure how to delete the other attachment.[attachment=354]

What utility for instance? They do both show in the log. The 1250 is LGDT3305 and the 1600 is Samsung S5H1409

Stop the server (NextPVR steals the tuner and see if these work when you are hooked up to ATSC antenna)

They will both scan at the same time using dvbv5-scan.
Scanned one to ATSC, reboot scanned the other to QAM Neither receives, will reboot and check in tomorrow.

What does that mean, reboot the PC between scans? My feeling based on the set of logs you posted earlier was you couldn't scan because you used one of the tuners for recording before scanning and it became locked. If you run
sudo servce nextpvr-server restart can you scan both of them assuming you aren't recording anything. Martin

What I did:
install tuner 1 install tuner 0 boot PC scan for ATSC channels on tuner 0 reboot PC scan for QAM channels on tuner 1 reboot PC I didn't restart the service because I'm used to Windows and it didn't occur to me. No, I was not recording anything while trying to scan. I could scan and save with one tuner but without the reboot could not scan the second tuner. dmesg didn't seem to show a problem with the drivers. Fixed now! |
