I have now spent many hours producing test recordings using version 5 and I  feel that I going insane !!

I have two capture cards in my PC and Hauppauge DVB-S and TBS DVB-T.

Freesat recordings made using the DVB-S card last  approximately 3 minutes .
When viewed in VRD the file size is small but the quality looks ok.

Freeview recordings from  BBC appear to complete but  Windows file manager indicates that a 1 hour program has a duration of 3.30  hours  (VRD program statistics also show 3.30 hours ) .

The real crazy thing is that when they are played back using VRD it appears to always includes a QVC advert for a Dyson cleaner at the end of the  file !!  (only a short section of the file can be played). When played back using VLC  distortions and pixellated plus the QVC advert at the end of the file.

Please note that QVC has not been saved as a channel.

Perhaps two files are being merged at the end of the recording process  corrupting the file .

Version 4 with Video Redo still works  ok.

Please help.

Thanks

Maurice

Please attach logs to a post telling us the name and time of recordings that are producing these odd files.  Thanks.

Thanks

I have been playing with this all day recording a number of programs using both tuners.

I changed the order of the tuners this morning leaving the S2 tuner at the top, and IPTV at the bottom of the list.

Programs recorded using  the DVB-T2 tuner appear now to be ok  but the DVB-S recordings only last a for a few minutes.

During the day I deleted and reinstalled the S2's drivers  but this did not make any difference.

I tested the DVB- S2 tuner on version 4 and it recorded without any issues.

During my testing I noticed that a number of the satellite channels lost their content on the web EPG.

I emptied the EPG and updated it during the afternoon most of the guide repopulated after this process.

I have attached the logs.

I deleted the troublesome recordings this morning and did not note their names but they were produced between 8 and 12 this morning BBC1  HD and BBC2 HD.

The latest recordings  on the log  using the S2 tuner should be e Tipping point  and Celebrity catchphrase  and Ready Steady Cook  using the T2 tuner .

British daytime tv is awful !!

Thanks for your help.

Your 'Tipping Point' recording started at 16:53. For minutes later, at 16:57, you had an EPG update happening, using the same tuner, which interrupted that recording. In theory the app shouldn't have allowed that tuner to be used, since it was already in use, so I'll have to check why it was allowed - but regardless, the EPG update was why this recording was interrupted a few minutes after starting. For now, schedule your EPG update to happen overnight when you're unlikely to be using the machine, or be more careful if you manually kick off an EPG update.

'Ready Steady Cook' was interrupted for exactly the same reason. It started recording at 14:26. A few minutes later at 14:29 you kicked off an EPG update, which caused it to changed frequencies, stopping your recording.

So...don't do an EPG update while you're recording

Hi sub

I only set off an update once yesterday and that was before these programs were set to record.
The EPG seems to be automatically updating when recording, could this be something to do with the freesat setting ???.

I will test

Hi

Set the EPG update time to 03 and all is now working ok on Freeview and Freesat.

Thanks for your help.
