Does anyone know if I can delete the 15,000 files in EPG cache?  I use zap2xml for EPG update (prior to epg update in v.5).

What is the EPG cache?  Are the files artwork that is displayed in, for example, recording lists for shows?

I guess I wasn't clear in my communication. I'm using zap2xml for updating the xmltv file, then updating nvpr epg with the xmltv file. So in the folder that has the xmltv file, there is a cache subfolder, in which there are 15,000 files.

I wouldn't be concerned with it, except I had to transfer all files to a different disk because the original disk was starting to give errors. It was taking a very long time to transfer all those files. But now it's a moot point because that's all done. I also found out that the cache is being used for metadata on the channels. I was told I could delete the files, but the next time epg update is run, it has to generate all those files again, which takes longer.

Anyway, consider this issue closed.
