Hi folks,

I've been having long running issues with v5 that I did not exerpeince on v4 yet cannot solve. Although I've been using NextPVR for years there are many things I don't know nor understand so you might have to take things slowly!

First and most annoying is a delay starting the TV tuners. If I open either NextPVR desktop or KODI (I normally use KODI) before the tuners appear in the backend status both programs claim they cannot communicate with the backend. Even then the tuners are available KODI cannot recognise this and I have to close and reopen. The time it takes for the tuners to appear varies, but perhaps 30s - 1min is common. This means I cannot autostart KODI upon entering windows.
I believe I've include the logfile (logs-20201003-1650)

When changing channels in KODI it quickly buffers which can take ~5-10s before it plays again normally. It usually does this quite quickly after changing channel but is not a given. The video appears fine and audio in sync before it buffers, so not quite sure what it is doing. I've played with the various time shift, chunk sizes and prebuffer but nothing made a differnce.
NextPVR desktop just takes a while to change channel, then might have random stutters through a program. I can't see any options with NextPVR to alter or adjust this.
I believe this is included in logfile (logs-20201003-1656). It should incude a channel change in NextPVR and KODI.

Can anyone help shed some light on these issues?
Ta for any help in advance!

If you use the Kodi Matrix alpha it will reconnect if Kodi starts before NextPVR is available.

Did you try Real Time mode?

Do you know approximately what time this 30s-1min delay was (so I know where I'm looking in your logs)? It definitely shouldn't be taking that long.

I head about KODI Matrix a few days ago but due to my lack of coding skills/knowledge I tend to wait for the stable releases. Great it's being added!

I believe the default/original setting was Real Time Mode and when the buffering started, I started playing/button bashing. I've switched it back to Real Time Mode and it appears to have fixed it! Perhaps it was a button bash elsewhere which made the difference? Either way it appears it work - thanks for the easy suggestion!

I noted the times when I started it up this morning. Windows booted up at about 10:01:20 and the tuners appeared in the status box at 10:03:12, quite a bit more than my previous estimate but it does vary. I've included new log files which hopefully corospond to the times stated.

Thanks for the help so far

You can change the service to be more like earlier version of NextPVR by changing the Startup type of the "NextPVR Service" to Automatic in Windows Service.
