Recording Once Program Has Started

I'm coming from SageTV.  In SageTV, when you watch a program in LiveTV and during the program decide that you want to save the program your watching as a manual recording from when you first tuned in, you can. You simply hit a record icon on the OSD. 

In NextPVR, it appears you have to escape your way out of LiveTV and go TV Guide and commence the recording, but it only records from that point on, leaving the prior video footage unrecorded.  Is there a work around?  I miss that feature in SageTV.

Until sub offers this I wrote a utility that can handle this in NextPVR when the same tuner is chosen, if it is something you use often search for Stitch.

You can hit record while watching tv. The recording will just start from the point you requested the recording. It won’t include the portion you already watched. (NextPVR used to have a mode like this, but it was a pain, so I didn’t include this feature in v5 - and no near term plans to bring it back)

I don't see a record button when I bring up the OSD while watching a program. How do I bring that option up?

In NextPVR CTL K is record. Record on the remote works too The mouse osd should have it as well.

Kodi has it too.

Here is the app I talked about https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=60387 I made it for myself but am happy to fix bugs. Ensure that recordings and live TV are not using reverse priority which is not the default. Stitch will save the scroll back from any didn't so if you first are watching love on Kodi and record on another Kodi client the recording as much as possible.
