I am getting very confused. I am trying to migrate off a SageTV system I have been nurturing for 15 years.

My basic need is to have a Client on a number of FireTV  boxes (Roku too would be a bonus but not overly concerned). I want the client to have an EPG, DVR and Comskip and the server to use my TBS cards.

So far I’ve been in a merry go round of Plex, Emby and NextPVR. I have bought short subscriptions for the first two but neither supports the TBS cards,  but I like their UI and will keep one of them for music and video libraries.

I have been able to get NextPVR up and running with EPGcollector for the EPG. Was pretty easy imho.

My question is what is the best way to get comskipping NextPVR client on FireTV box? I understand the NextPVR plug-in no longer works with Emby. I have setup KNEWC on Kodi but the UI client looks low res and doesn’t respond to settings in Plugin  configuration tool.

Am I barking up the wrong tree or should I just throw in the towel and get a HDHomerun for Native Plex or Emby TV streaming ?

To begin at the beginning (with apologies for stating the bleedin' obvious) ... NextPVR is two "products" ... 1) The NextPVR Recorder runs on Windows, Linux and Mac 2) A NextPVR Player runs on Windows (supplied with the Recorder) Android, IOS (from the relevant "store") plus there is a "standard" add-on for Kodi  and the knewc plugin for Kodi which duplicates the NextPVR Player for Windows.

Comskip runs on the Recorder machine and can be automated to run while a recording is in progress or immediately after the recording ends ... https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/Comskip

Watch this space (or a nearby space) regarding Emby.

This can be diagnosed and resolved with logs ... https://github.com/sub3/NextPVR/wiki/get-help ... Thanks.

Thanks for the quick response Graham. I have Comskip configured on the NextPVR server.

I will wait to hear about the Emby plugin being released. Will the plugin client support EDL Comskipping ?

Sideloading Kodi on FireTV with the PVR addon supports comskip perfectly. This would be my recommendation. I recommend Matrix too since it shows the comskip breaks on the timeline.

The Emby addon interface does not support comskip.

Grahams plug-in with Kodi Matrix RC1 works great, just what I was looking for.

I will keep Emby for management of my videos, pictures and music. I can now confidently pack away all my redundant SageTV extenders in the loft.

Thanks
