Installed the MediaMVP last night and was able to get things running with the GBPVR server. Big problem though, the playback is brutal, really choppy and slow. I tried both hardwired and wireless and had the exact same performance from both, which actually leads me to believe it is something else then throughput of the network. Anyone else have similar experiences 'out-of-the-box'? As well, i have the exact same issue with LIVE-TV as well as video playback. I am praying it is just configuration. I am using a 2.4Ghz Celeron with 512MB of RAM, nothing seems to be maxed out, so i am at a loss....

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Choppy as well...

I was hoping to find an answer here. I have a D1 MVP and I installed the Hauppauge software to try and find somethign that works. Any playback is choppy.

Several users both here and at http://www.shspvr.com/forum have had this problem when using the onboard NIC on their motherboard. Unfortunately I've not had the problem, so I cant tell you the fix, but its certainly been discussed in the past.

Just to let you know, I just updated my video drivers and, set my NIC on full-duplex, I also turned flick control on high in the MVP. Choppiness has gotten better but still not good. I have an integrated NIC and video card, so I will try putting in a regular NIC and will report back.

Looks like it was my wireless connection, i had made an error when i reported i had tried it 'hardwired' and it had still failed. Anyhow, just wanted to report that everything works flawlessly when i used a crossover.

Cabling was the issue for me, I ran a different cable and it works fine.

I found the true issue...
Cabling has been fine. When I ran another cable I plugged it in to my router which like most routers has a 4 port hub. I originally had my MVP plugged into a switch, which has caused my problems. I have now plugged my MVP into a hub and I am choppy no more.

I have 2 different known good switches that I have no issues with...
When I plugged in my Media MVP into a switch, my picture quality was really choppy. For troubleshooting purposes I plugged my Media MVP into my router which has an intergrated 4 port hub, and I thought the problem was solved. My issue was I could not have an Ethernet cable strung all the way accross my living room floor. I then tried different ports on my switch, and eventially a completely different known working good switch both to no avail. I then realized the Media MVP worked when it was hooked up to my hub, so I dug up a 4-port hub plugged it in and all my troubles went away. My equipment works fine, but the Media MVP needed to be connected to hub for it to work.
