Stand By

Just a quick question: after recording, my laptop will not go into standby. I have checked the standby settings and in normal use it goes into standby with no problem, but after recording a programme it stays on, usually until the following morning when I can switch it off. It's an ageing laptop, a Lenovo G570 running Windows 10.

Any ideas? Thanks.

The Windows ... powercfg ... command has numerous command line options for diagnosing sleep problems.

Attached are the zipped log files. I have tried running "powercfg" as Administrator, but when I click Yes to run it, nothing happens. It appears to be blocked somehow.

The ... Resuming ... messsages in the log are NextPVR saying that it has received a notice from Windows to say that Windows is waking from sleep. I did not see anything in the logs to suggest that NextPVR is keeping the computer awake.

The ... powercfg ... command should work if run in a Command Prompt that has been opened using ... Run as Administrator.

For future reference ... It appears that you are running NextPVR V4 and posting in the V5 sub-folder.

You need to run it with a parameter : powercfg /requests will show which process is preventing sleep.
