Here we are having some stormy/windy weather which makes OTA TV watching a challange. I have the most trouble with the Roku app which ends the stream and displays the malformed error and stops the stream immediatly. Is there any way this can be improved?

The workaround is to watch TV with Kodi on the Firestick 4K which works much better.

Logs are when watching a channel earlier today that frequently stops the stream. This channel was worse than the others but it still happens with the other channels jsut less frequent.

Does turning off direct play help?  The client itself can't help with this.  Kodi does pass streams through ffmpeg internally.  Sub doesn't offer a simple remux for the Roku so if there is a CPU hit you would need to modify config.xml

Yes, it seems to be better with direct play off. Haven't got the malformed error happen yet after a few minutes of watching.  CPU is between 50-60%. Guess that should be adequate.

Thanks Martin

I tired watching the recording of the MLB game today and it got the malformed error again. Happened in last few minutes in the log.

As I said the client cannot help.   You seem not to be using the recommendation to use MP4 or m3u8 format which might help over direct play TS.  Depending on the quality you might even need to transcode.

Just wanted to give an update to this issue.

Further investigation of my setup revealed a loose cable connection to one of my antennas. After repairing this I have not seen any malformed data errors since with direct play turned on. So, I think my live TV issues my be resoved.
