I'm new to using the IPTV device functions in NVPR.  I've had a look at the instructions, but they don't provide much detail.
I've managed to get some channels working from an .m3u8 link but I can't figure out how to use the filtering in the add-channels dialog to reduce the size of the list of channels, so I'm stuck with trying to wade through 100's of channels from all over the world - a bit fiddley.  I've unticked a heap of countries, and tried to use the "filter by Channel Group" but it only offers me "Select All" or "All Channels" as options.

I've also now got a VOD menu item with two Italian channels that don't work - How can I delete them? They don't appear in the Channels list of any device.

As far as IPTV links go, should I stick to only using .m3u rather than .m3u8? (not sure of the difference)
Is there a particular format that I should look for  - I saw on Matt Huisman's site that he has Raw, Kodi, or TV-Headend formats - which is best for NPVR?
Apologies if this is Newbie stuff, but I couldn't find anything in the forum that answered my questions.

I'm away for a couple of days, otherwise would post you a couple of screenshots.

Ultimately the filtering stuff is really designed around the types of channel groups you usually get with pay IPTV services. These are often thousands of channels, and the channel filtering is pretty essential. I'm not sure if Matt Huisman's m3u files have channel groups or not, so the filtering might not be as effective there - his are a lot less channels though, so probably manageable to work with them manually if you have to.

How it'd normally work - assuming you were setting up an IPTV service from scratch, you'd for the 'import m3u', and when the import is complete, you'll see your list of channels. Before saving them, you'd typically click the filter button above the channel results. I'd usually start by unticking 'all channels' which disables all channels, then only tick the channel groups you want to keep. ie, "US Documentary" or "UK Entertainment" or whatever groups you'd actually use. Then hit save, and only those specific channels will be added to NextPVR. (this might have got your down from 20,000 channels to a more manageable 60 or something)

This isn't a way to delete VOD items. These are always just the list as supplied by your IPTV source. (I could maybe look into a delete/hide function in future)

An m3u is a collection of streams. An m3u8 is one of those stream. ie a .m3u is list of channels. The m3u8 is one of those channels.

From his description, it looks like either the raw or Kodi ones will be fine. You probably won't seen any significant difference between them. I'd probably try the Kodi ones first.
