This error is because it can't find the hdhomerun_config, which is required for old legacy HDHR devices. The SiliconDust website seems to indicate this can be installed on mac by installing https://download.silicondust.com/hdhomer...un_mac.dmg

It's not required for modern HDHR devices.

I uninstalled libhdhomerun and just confirmed that installs the full HDHR software package and legacy tuning works fine.

Yes it worked fine for me till it did not as I already explained.

He posted a Windows log as if it applies to Mac. Even being a heavy Linux user does not give him any qualification on the Mac. I know I use Windows Mac and Linux they are all different. It is a different beast. Nothing more on that.

I do believe that to be true that the HDHomerun installer takes care of it. It was already installed on my mac and it is a far better way to go then homebrew Garbageware. This is precisely why I say that Homebrew makes a mess of things so often. If homebrew was worth the trouble it would ensure it was not already installed before installing, or treat the homebrew version as an upgrade, but it can not because homebrew does not install directly to Applications on MacOS. These applications also normally do not integrate well to the OS also. Then there is the issue of removing them, especially when they are broken on install. Two versions of the same software and no idea which you are really using for sure., is a recipe for problems on any platform.

If you're talking about that message saying "System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (2): No such file or directory", yes it absolutely applies to Linux and Mac too. Some of the error messages just happen to say "Win32Exception" because microsoft reused some components when they extended .NET to allow it to run on Linux/Mac as well.

This error message is telling you that the hdhomerun_config utility is not on your Linux machine.

hdhomerun_config is not homebrew. It is software supplied by the manufacturer of the HDHomeRun. Instructions for installing it on your mac (or other platforms) can be found here: https://info.hdhomerun.com/info/hdhomerun_config

When you get that utility installed, you should no longer get that "System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (2): No such file or directory" error message, and hopefully your device will start functioning.

I made the distinction between the Homebrew GARBAGEware (that Martin suggested I install) vs the SiliconDust HDHomerun package. I think you have not only confused who said what. but also that this post is about MacOS not linux there you guys go again talking as if it was all the same when clearly it is not.

You guys are frustrating with your lack of ability to read. You wear me out with the BS, and none of it helps to fix the problem anyway.; neither the HDHomerun installer nor the homebrew garbageware

Nobody should recommend the homebrew package to any mac user, especially when SiliconDust has a mac Package that covers it.

You are also assuming that the SiliconDust Package is NOT installed when it was installed before I installed NextPVR and Next PVR was working (yes even HDHR Channels) . Later the SiliconDust package was reinstalled and still did not work then I installed the Homebrew garbageware and it still did not work, not even after removing all and trying again one at a time.

Stop trying to negate all I say and making me explain in detail all over again.

Let it go. Life isn't worth stressing over this shit. We're all trying to help you and we don't deserve to be harrased.

Martin made an entirely reasonable guess that you needed libhdhomerun. libhdhomerun is supplied by SiliconDust, the manufacturer of the HDHomeRun. In this case it turned out not to be correct, but if you hadn't wanted to use 'brew' to install libhdhomerun, you could have installed it other ways.

The logs are clearly telling us that hdhomerun_config is not available on your machine. If you think it is on your machine, then you should work out why it's not in the path - this is stopping NextPVR from being able to use it.

In this case though, it is hdhomerun_config that is missing.

I have an ignore feature on so I am only getting a partial picture.  On my system (with a working brew) brew install libhdhomerun did get my legacy HDHR working.  I checked the tar file that brew installed and it includes bin/hdhomerun_config.
