Your DVBT tuner sizes are different.  Open the tuner2 device and use the trash can icon to remove the channels from it.  Delete the tuner2 conf if it still exists then open the tuner2 device and  you should be prompted to copy settings

So tuner1 is bad and needs to be rescanned then you need to do those tuner2 steps again

In the process of doing this I decided to see if all drivers/firmware was up to date and well I broke everything  Blush
I went back to a previous kernel and now everything is back again. Ive done a separate scan on adpt 1&2 and left the channels
all unmerged for the time being to make any trouble shooting a bit easier maybe ?

It all seems to be behaving at present, but time will tell

Thanx

Ok good, you probably didn't need to rescan the copy is probably safter if you plan on merging.

I think the main issue is how complicated keeping merged tuners synced on Linux is. The whole scan tuner, delete tuners, and copy tuners process is so easy to forget. Hopefully you don't rescan often.

I was curious before I broke things as to whether the two T2 tuners would scan the same channels.
I found that adapter1 did not find any HD channels which prompted me to attempt a repair. Of course this could have caused problems when merging channels before. (The remaining S2 tuner has quite a lot of different channels) Could this be an issue ? After the roll back to the older kernel
adaptr1 now scans exactly the same as adapter2. Ive no idea what happened here

Just for clarity may I ask a couple of questions

1) Why is it complicated keeping merged tuners synced on Linux ?
2) What is the best procedure of scan, copy, delete, merge that is safest if it has to be redone in the future ?

Thanx very much

Once channels are merged then it is the update process that complicated since you have to pick one tuner rescan it and then undo the merge recopy. I am hoping one day sub can make the solution more streamlined.

As for your problem did NextPVR accidentally give you to option to copy the channels from dvb-s to dvb-t. I know for some tuner types this can happen and you must say "no" which is somewhat confusing.

ok thanx

I dont remember it asking to copy from S2. I think i merged all tuners after copying the T2 tuners
Ive still got them all un-merged for the time being now, but will want to merge them eventually

You should be ok to merge now.
