Hi All,

Has anyone any information on using an ATI 2GB Radeon 550 to assist with the transcoding. The default option of AMD in the drop down does not seem to work for me.

Many thanks in advance

I'm not sure if it's still the case, but in the past video encoding with an AMD devices would only work from processes running in the desktop session (ie, the session using the display driver). This meant it wouldn't work from a service.

You can test that by stopping the NextPVR Service in the Services control panel, and manually running NextPVRServer.exe, then trying again.

Thanks for the info, I never explicitly asked it run as a service but will check.
Are there any recommendations you would make for a reliable lower cost card to assist with transcoding on a Windows 10 PC if running as a service ?

Thanks and Regards

The default is to run as a service. (so that it'll record even if no one is logged in etc)

Does your motherboard have onboard Intel graphics? That should work well.

Yes, its a HP1494 motherboard with Intel HD graphics. So set Transcoding to Intel and should work- that would be great
Thanks for your help
