PlutoTV VOD: empty list for categories starting with a single quote

Web UI - Click VOD - select a category that starts with a single quote (e.g. '80s Rewind).  The list is empty.  

For other categories the list comes back correctly

More background: in the logs I notice that the "filter" parameter is empty for service calls with "method: vod.list".  Filter is usually filled for other categories.

Thanks I won't work on this now, but I will keep track of it. PlutoTV is now available in Canada so hopefully I can get around to looking at it in the next few weeks.

I just came here to search and post about this issue.

I manually edited "C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data\scripts\plutotv\vod-cache-1.json" on my Windows 10 install and replaced '70s Flashback to 70s Flashback, removing the apostrophe or whatever it is called, and did the same with '80s and '90s. I also added added:

80s Rewind=yes
90s Throwback=yes

above the

Code:

'70s Flashback=yes
'80s Rewind=yes
'90s Throwback=yes

to my pluto-vod-filter.lst. Not sure if adding that to the filters lst file did anything to help or just the first part, but when I ran python plutotv.py vod and restarted NextPVR, It populated the empty categories and recordings came down correctly. There was only one entry per group in the vod-cache-1.json when I searched it. The empty categories are fully populated now.

Based on that I had a look and it looks like an NextPVR issue or my understanding of the API. The database is getting populated but group names with quotes are not being sent to the JSON API
